Paleo is a life style. Not a diet. Not deprivation. It is about going back to nature, going back to yourself, listening to your body, listening what it tells you. Listen when it tells you it needs nourishment, movement, rest.
Paleo in essence avoids gluten, grains, legumes, refined sugars, processed food, and originally dairy as well. There have been studies done as to why one should avoid these items, but I will not go into it here.
Having said all this, I’d like to preface it – I don’t like labels. Nutrition is fluid and individual. What works for you, may not work for me. There are as many ways to feed ourselves as there are people on this planet. For me, what I have found to work is that completely avoiding higher carb foods and certain dairy is a no-no. I don’t know what the Paleo gods think of me, but I can’t live on steak and spinach. So, I have found a balance.
So, your “Paleo” may or may not include dairy, it may or may not include rice on occasion. And that is ok. I understand it as looking for the optimal nutrition for you. Call it what you like, take it as a starting point, and I would be more than glad if it helps you.
If you find yourself thriving at having eliminated certain things but are not able to find the little things that used to bring you joy (that cake on your birthday, or the cookies at the baby shower), I am glad you are here, cause I am confident you will be able to find that among these products!
These are all things that are dear to my heart and that I have made a million times. We all seem to crave the same things, and I decided to bring my favourites to you too! It can be disappointing and frustrating when in a café and not be able to order anything that would agree with you. Why go through the discomfort? At the end of the day, it is not worth it! But it shouldn’t be that way! You should be able to have your cake and eat it too! You deserve cake too!
These are relatively simple recipes, that we have all grown up eating – cookies, biscuits, cakes, but have been missing from our lives. I would like you to be able to take the full pleasure when eating and leave with the memories
They are inherently gluten-free because all the ingredients are naturally gluten-free. However, they are not made in a gluten-free kitchen.
Unfortunately, they are not. Not all products contain nuts, but they are not made in a nut-free kitchen.
At the moment deliveries are not possible per se. We can agree on a meeting pick up point.
Swapping out essential ingredients in recipes is tricky, since these have been tested as they are. However, we can try within reason, but if the problematic ingredient is essential to the structure of the product, then we may not be able to accommodate.
